We've spent a career answering that question — in banks, call centers, legal operations, and eighteen-language enterprise deployments. The answer shows up as systems: rules engines, workflow engines, domain-specific languages, cognitive automation. Each one encoded a piece of human work that used to live only inside people's heads.
Those systems were acquired by IBM in 2020 — IBM's first software acquisition in South America — and became IBM Robotic Process Automation, shipped in eighteen languages on every continent, running inside banks, telcos, healthcare networks, and governments.
That wasn't a lucky exit. It was the arrival point of a thirty-year thesis: human knowledge can be encoded, and the organizations that encode it outcompete the ones that don't.
Ouro is AI-first and automation-first from inception — not retrofitted. We write our own technology on top of Engenie AI. We train our own LLM models — best of breed, not best in suite — and we run across on-premise, edge, and cloud. Local models operate around the clock, keeping development costs low for the long-running agents inside our stack.
